January 12 to March 10 Uncle Sam’s New Deal
Visit the Austin Public Library and learn about the effects of New Deal programs on Minnesota and Mower County. The exhibit is open during regular library hours: Monday through Thursday 10 AM to 9 PM, Friday & Saturday 10 AM to 6 PM, and Sunday 1 to 5 PM. Local hosts include the Mower County Historical Society and the Austin Public Library. The exhibit was made possible by the Minnesota Historical Society’s Traveling Exhibit program with support from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the vote of Minnesotans on November 4, 2008.
Saturday, February 16 Genealogy Detectives Workshop 9 AM to 2:30 PM
Looking to spend some time on your family history this winter? Need to learn some tips to get started or jump over those hurdles? Then attend our Genealogy Detectives Workshop on February 16. Learn from historical society staff and volunteers how to research your family history. Space is limited to the first 8 paid participants. Cost is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. Registration is due by Monday, February 11.
