Christmas in the County - December 7-8

The Mower County Historical Society is making plans for its Annual Fundraiser - Christmas in the County. We hope you will join us and experience a good "old fashioned" Christmas. Bring the whole family and have a great day at YOUR Historical Society!

The annual Pre-Sale BAKE SALE will take place on Friday, December 7, 2018. This year the sale will start an hour earlier at 3pm and run until 6pm. The sale will continue on Saturday while supplies last. Get a jump start on you holiday baking and support a great cause too! Christmas cookies will be the main feature, however there will be pies, breads, lefse, candies and other goodies for the holidays that will tempt your taste buds.

The MAIN EVENT will start at 11am on Saturday, December 8, 2018 and will run until 4pm (an hour later than last year). Most activites will be in the Pioneer Building with lots of activites for the kids. Enjoy making a pine cone bird feeder, painting a rock, crafting a Christmas card, or frosting a cookie. There will also be wagon rides outside on the fairgrounds. You can also ring the bell OR toot the whistle on the 1004 steam engine. Santa & Mrs. Claus will also be visiting from the North Pole.

Once again, there will be a HUGE Silent Auction with over 100 baskets for the bidding! What a great way to do your Christmas shopping and support the MCHS at the same time. The food stand will feature Chili & Hot Dogs. The BAKE SALE will continue while supplies last.

The "Raffle Drawing" will take place at 3pm in the Pioneer Building. Tickets are $1.00 each and are currently available from any MCHS Board Member OR the office. The grand prize is a beautiful quilt "Civit War Reproductions" handmade by Virginia Bissen. Several other prizes, donated by businesses from around the county will also be given away as part of the drawing!
