Do you want to help clean up the historical society buildings and grounds? Come join us the day as we get the site looking a little tidier for the upcoming tour season. Contact us to offer an extra hand for this day!

Come visit one of the two remaining GAR Halls in the state of Minnesota during the annual open house. This event takes place during Grand Meadow's Meadowfest celebration. In addition, enjoy acitivites associated with the Civil War Celebration. On Saturday, come to the Grand Meadow Baseball Field on the south end of Main Street for a vintage baseball game between the Rochester Roosters and the Grand Meadow Nine at 5:30pm. Looking for a different way to enjoy your lunch break in the summer? Come to our Lunchbox History Series and make your lunch break and educational time! Each month on the 4th Thursday, a speaker will present a history topic from Mower County, state, or national history. Visitors are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch to enjoy.
Admission is free, but donations are accepted.

Join MCHS and the Mower County Ag Society as we celebrate Mower County's 127th Fair. Activities will take place all over the historical society grounds. Come see the Antique Tractor Show as well!

Spend an afternoon at MCHS and witness a harvest celebration that is enjoyed by all! Watch as volunteers demonstrate how a real threshing machine is operated or how logging operations work. There are many activities to be enjoyed by the whole family. Join us for a traditional thresher's dinner and bake and produce sale. The Fall Harvest is always a great family event.

Everyone is invited to Hormel Historic Home for the Annual Meeting. A catered dinner will be provided prior to the business meeting and entertainment. Members are allowed to vote, and the meeting is open to the public.

Want to buy your baked goods before everyone else can? Shop the selection in the Administration Building the day before the Christmas in the County event begins.

Bring out the family for a fun filled afternoon and evening! Join us for a sleigh ride, holiday crafts, silent auction, homemade chili, lights display, and of course, Santa! You can purchase more baked goods until it runs out and even blow the whistle on the 1004 locomotive. Christmas in the County at MCHS is always a crowd pleaser!
